WildheartVinnies Dive, Southport, Gold CoastMay 30, 2024Support: Consequence, Deathrow and Crime SceneIt's been a while since I’ve shot a show at Vinnie’s but they always go off with a bang! If you’ve never been to Vinnie’s Dive Bar you’d just about walk past and miss it. An unassuming black brick wall with a door, with a bright pink sign above it. (OK, so you don’t miss the sign when the lights are on but you get the point!)Tonight's festivities have us checking out Wildheart's single launch show for ‘Death is All That’s Left’. First on the bill was a sweet 5 piece Gold Coast metalcore band called Consequence. Now I only caught the last song of their set but what I saw rocked. Definitely check them out.Brisbane 4 piece Deathrow followed. The band exploded onto the stage in full throttle. The crowd had a ball, moshing, circle pits, body slams included. The band had a ball and the crowd thrived off that energy resulting in a pretty sick set.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pM_WdlK5oIThird up on stage was Crime Scene; a 5 piece metal band hailing from Byron Bay. They’ve been together since high school way back in the mid-2000s. After taking bit of a break from music, the band is back and released a bunch of singles last year. Ps. Wildheart love them! This was another hectic set with a high energy performance from the band. The crowd lost their shit with insane mosh pits, horse kicks, circle pits and body slamming. It was a situation of get out of the way or get slammed. As the set went on the crowd settled a bit and got on with watching a wicked band singing and playing their hearts out.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w7pfEVArt9gAh. The headliner. The band I came to see. I have a bit of a soft spot for Wildheart.I love to tell my “I first came across this band...” stories and theirs is worth retelling - I first stumbled on Wildheart at the Gold Coast Music Awards 2022. The band opened the event and blew us all away with ‘Backburner’. It was an awesome moment for me. It was my first awards night and I got to see a heavy band first off the bat. It rocked. Wildheart were nominated and won Release Of The Year for 'Global Crisis'.They have since released their infamous two-track cover/original of Goanna’s ‘Solid Rock' and 'Scared Ground’ - which we were treated to at Thursday night’s show. If you are a kid from the 80s and 90s you’ll remember this song and probably love it.Wildheart are making waves. They’ve played BIGSOUND and UNIFY Gathering and supported everyone from Northlane, Alpha Wolf, Stick To Your Guns and more. Hot tip - These boys are kicking ass and definitely going places.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TExXnNP-8RoOpening their set with ‘Global Crisis’ the crowd gathering in close toward the stage a bit of calmer this time. Moshing, bopping and moving to the beat, singing the words to the songs they knew. I had a look around the room – the crowd was completely memorized by the music and performance of Wildheart. The first few bars of ‘Solid Rock // Sacred Ground’ began to play, with it the crowd wooed in excitement. Everyone knew the words and screamed along. And of course, the song we all came to hear – the newbie ‘Death is All That’s Left’. It is a banger of track and worth a listen. The band’s music speaks and screams the important messages of Indigenous injustices they want to share with us, yet they do it in such a cool way it really makes you think.Finishing off with my fav ‘Backburner’ it was set to remember. Wildheart you should be proud of yourselves and how far you’ve come!A quick chat with the band after the show and Wildheart were over the moon to have such a sick lineup. Wildheart have long been fans of Crime Scene for over 10 years and were stoked to play with them. Deathrow and Consequence are crushing it. And a big thank you from the band to everyone who came out on a Thursday night to see them.Review & Photo Gallery by Bec O’Reilly@bec.belles.Please credit Wall of Sound and Bec O’Reilly if you repost.SetlistGlobal CrisisLucky CountryRising TideFalse Hope/Fake HappinessDeath is All That’s LeftSolid Rock // Sacred GroundBackburnerCrime Scene[gallery type="square" ids="https://wallofsoundau.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/crime-scene-@-Vinnies-May-2024-3.jpg|,https://wallofsoundau.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/crime-scene-@-Vinnies-May-2024-6.jpg|,https://wallofsoundau.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/crime-scene-@-Vinnies-May-2024-7.jpg|,https://wallofsoundau.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/crime-scene-@-Vinnies-May-2024-2.jpg|,https://wallofsoundau.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/crime-scene-@-Vinnies-May-2024-4.jpg|,https://wallofsoundau.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/crime-scene-@-Vinnies-May-2024-8.jpg|,https://wallofsoundau.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/crime-scene-@-Vinnies-May-2024-9.jpg|,https://wallofsoundau.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/crime-scene-@-Vinnies-May-2024-11.jpg|,https://wallofsoundau.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/crime-scene-@-Vinnies-May-2024-10.jpg|"]Wildheart[gallery type="square" ids="https://wallofsoundau.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Wildheard-@-Vinnies-May-2024-39.jpg|,https://wallofsoundau.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Wildheard-@-Vinnies-May-2024-13.jpg|,https://wallofsoundau.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Wildheard-@-Vinnies-May-2024-3.jpg|,https://wallofsoundau.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Wildheard-@-Vinnies-May-2024-1.jpg|,https://wallofsoundau.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Wildheard-@-Vinnies-May-2024-5.jpg|,https://wallofsoundau.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/deathrow-@-Vinnies-May-2024-1.jpg|,https://wallofsoundau.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Wildheard-@-Vinnies-May-2024-7.jpg|,https://wallofsoundau.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Wildheard-@-Vinnies-May-2024-4.jpg|,https://wallofsoundau.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Wildheard-@-Vinnies-May-2024-6.jpg|,https://wallofsoundau.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Wildheard-@-Vinnies-May-2024-8.jpg|,https://wallofsoundau.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Wildheard-@-Vinnies-May-2024-12.jpg|,https://wallofsoundau.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Wildheard-@-Vinnies-May-2024-14.jpg|,https://wallofsoundau.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Wildheard-@-Vinnies-May-2024-22.jpg|,https://wallofsoundau.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Wildheard-@-Vinnies-May-2024-24.jpg|,https://wallofsoundau.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Wildheard-@-Vinnies-May-2024-16.jpg|,https://wallofsoundau.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Wildheard-@-Vinnies-May-2024-20.jpg|,https://wallofsoundau.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Wildheard-@-Vinnies-May-2024-37.jpg|,https://wallofsoundau.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Wildheard-@-Vinnies-May-2024-21.jpg|,https://wallofsoundau.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Wildheard-@-Vinnies-May-2024-23.jpg|,https://wallofsoundau.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Wildheard-@-Vinnies-May-2024-42.jpg|,https://wallofsoundau.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Wildheard-@-Vinnies-May-2024-25.jpg|,https://wallofsoundau.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Wildheard-@-Vinnies-May-2024-27.jpg|,https://wallofsoundau.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Wildheard-@-Vinnies-May-2024-28.jpg|,https://wallofsoundau.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Wildheard-@-Vinnies-May-2024-32.jpg|,https://wallofsoundau.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Wildheard-@-Vinnies-May-2024-45.jpg|,https://wallofsoundau.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Wildheard-@-Vinnies-May-2024-48.jpg|,https://wallofsoundau.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Wildheard-@-Vinnies-May-2024-49.jpg|,https://wallofsoundau.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Wildheard-@-Vinnies-May-2024-35.jpg|,https://wallofsoundau.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Wildheard-@-Vinnies-May-2024-53.jpg|,https://wallofsoundau.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Wildheard-@-Vinnies-May-2024-54.jpg|"][embed]https://youtu.be/z6nIHi3r8Mo?si=_yczYcNTZwe_5hzq[/embed][embed]https://youtu.be/qtDX_hMhohA?si=2qHw73qMKQanGHQ1[/embed]
