2023 has been a massive year for Windwaker, from releasing our most well-received song to date with 'SIRENS', to headlining the biggest stages we’ve ever played as a band - all while taking a major lineup change in our stride. We’ve had a massive year of writing and we’re sitting on so much new music that we are so proud of, and we can’t wait to share with you. We’ve created so many memories this year with old friends and new, many of whom we’ve been able to meet through doing what we do.We're incredibly grateful for the year we’ve had and can’t wait for what’s in store for 2024.

FAV AUSTRALIAN ACT YOU CAN’T GET ENOUGH OF RIGHT NOW?

Liam: I would say Genesis Owusu has consistently been one of my favourite Australian acts for the last few years. But if we’re talking about new discoveries, two acts that are really holding it down for me at the moment are Upsetter and Colourburn.Indey: Heartline, Inertia, Ocean Sleeper, Bloom.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xt4eImDBD-g

BEST GIG YOU PLAYED THIS YEAR AND WHY?

Liam: There’s been a lot of great shows this year but I’d have to give the title of best gig to the Max Watts show in Melbourne on our headline tour. It was our biggest headline show to date, it was sold out, packed with lots of friends, a lot of family and the energy was real. The entire night just had so many memorable moments. Incredible night.https://www.instagram.com/p/CvCRu6Tr5RJ/?img_index=1

BIGGEST HOLY SHIT MOMENT FOR YOU THIS YEAR?

Liam: There’s a lot to name this year but I think for me seeing the response from 'SIRENS' and how it felt moving forward and feeling that acceptance of myself being the new vocalist of Windwaker, at least at that time. It’s always the highest energy song at our shows and it’s been amazing hearing everyone sing that chorus back at us.[wpadcenter_ad id=173765 align='center']

ANY SNEAK PEEKS OF INBOUND PLANS NEXT YEAR?

Liam: Well we just finished recording a lot of new music so definitely expect to hear some tunes next year - we’re so proud of the new songs we have yet to share. We might also be making some appearances overseas as well, so stay tuned there!https://www.instagram.com/p/CxKayQ3LTTT/

BEST ADVICE GOING INTO 2024?

Liam: I think with everything that’s happened over the last 3 years, now more than ever it’s important to not put off plans, do what you love, see the world, support the things you think are important and make the most of this life we have. The only thing we can take with us into the future is the experiences we create now.Written by Liam Guinane@liamguinane and Indey Salvestro@windy__
