Ooooooh this is a hard one! We’ve been so spoiled with amazing shows this year <3 Might have to call it a two-way tie between our sold-out headline show at Melbourne’s Corner Hotel (our biggest Aussie headline show to date & also our first ever Triple J Live At The Wireless!) and returning to the stage at Download UK for the Fest’s 20th anniversary. Watching thousands of people on the other side world singing along to our songs was something else! TELL US A CORE MEMORY FROM A MUSIC FESTIVAL SET
I’m not sure if this one counts because it was technically last year :P but getting Shaun from Short Stack up to make a surprise cameo for a metalcored-up version of ‘Planets’ during our set at Good Things Sydney last December was sooooo much fun! Then watching the footage of the Stack boys making their Good Things debut this year headlining the same stage in front of a monster crowd was even cooler!Another one from this year – we played this festival in the Czech Republic called Rock For People alongside MUSE, Slipknot, Bring Me The Horizon, etc. Core shit memory was getting my passport stolen from the green room. Core awesome memory was Stand Atlantic crashing our set to launch toilet paper at the crowd during ‘Bad Decisions’!
BIGGEST HOLY SHIT MOMENT FOR YOU THIS YEAR?
I’m pretty sure I literally let out the words “Holy Shit!” when I found out we’d charted in the ARIA Aus Albums top 10 with our debut LP. As a 100% independent band with zero label support, that felt like a pretty cool achievement. Also the week that RedHook started paying my rent- that’s something I’d never dared to dream would even be possible!
