Wall of Sound presents: “2018 YEAR IN REVIEW” – by Between You And Me's James 'Bassy' Karagiozis

Australian pop punk is in good hands at the moment with the likes of Tonight Alive, Trophy Eyes, Satellites, Stateside, Stand Atlantic, Eat Your Heart Out and Melbourne lads Between You And Me holding the flag for us down under. The BYAM boys have also picked up huge momentum overseas since their signing to Hopeless Records which saw them touring across the States and gaining more recognition for their efforts.
The band also released their debut album Everything Is Temporary which was met by positive reviews and also played a handful of impressive sets at Big Sound 2018 which we were lucky enough to be present for. To wrap up the year we grabbed James 'Bassy' Karagiozis for his biggest mission yet, telling you what his favourite releases and shows in 2018 were, so without anymore dwelling here's Bassy's Wall of Sound 2018 Year In Review…

BEST MUSIC VIDEO OF 2018?
With Confidence - 'That Something'. The video just genuinely made me laugh and forget about what I needed to do that day. These dudes took us out on our first big tour so I’m glad they’re back and having fun.

BEST GIG YOU’VE SEEN IN 2018?
I got to see Comeback Kid in Austin, TX a month or so ago. That was wild, smallish room and the crowd was just insane. I couldn’t help myself so I got in the pit and then stage dove and hit the floor. Good times.

BEST SHOW YOUR BAND PLAYED THIS YEAR?
Hometown Melbourne show for our headline tour in September. I didn’t think that many people cared about us in Melbourne so it just blew my mind. I think we over sold the venue by 100 tickets or something, the door person just kept letting people in haha

WHAT ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO IN 2019?
New Ceres Album.
The best band in Australia.
Hurry Up.
