Villain of the Story are sneaking back into your mental health plan with newly released single ‘Better’. I know, just as you were running out of your previous prescription of ‘Don’t Go’ pills, which also contained the same secret ingredient of hard-hitting lyrics, that might not solve your problem, but offers up a shoulder to cry on whenever you need, just by hitting that play button.
Just when you think Adele is about to come in with the Hello vocals on top of the well-crafted (midi)-keyboard/synth mix, Logan Bartholomew (who is surprisingly not Adele, if you can believe it) delivers a gentle more exposed tone than we’ve heard before. While his voice carries you in a soothing wave through the verse with lyrics of hope, guitarists Christian Grey & Cody Pauly pull you out of the water for a fresh breath of power chords & octaves to round off the song.
Villain of the Story’s latest single comes with a strong message, not to isolate yourself “In A Self Made hell”, seek the support you need and that things do truly “get better”. If there’s one thing you should do, you 'Better' watch out for this band.
