The timing on this song couldn't be any better with the new Godzilla vs. Kong movie hitting cinemas yesterday but Good Things Festival alumni The Veronicas have tipped their hats back to the alternative scene with the release of their new banger 'GODZILLA'. Now before you start with your whole - "THE VERONICAS AREN'T HEAVY" - shit, shut up and give the song a listen.
With just the first six riffs, you'd be mistaken for thinking you've hit play on Hole's 'Celebrity Skin' but in true Veronicas form, the sassy guitars and synth come in and instantly you're hit in the face by Australia's most recognised pocket rocket twins! Long time fans (not just the 'Untouched' bandwagon riders) would hear elements of their iconic 2007 album Hook Me Up and the standalone single 'Lolita' from way back in 2012 (feeling old yet?)
Also, the best news is last - there are two new albums coming and a tour! The first is GODZILLA which is set for release on May 28th and is Part 1 of their double album experience! With heavy guitars and soaring voices, this is their most dynamic and daring release yet. album 2 is HUMAN which is out July 2nd and is the sister album to GODZILLA. It’s the vulnerable and raw emotions that defines HUMAN. The Veronica’s songwriting and stripped back voices is something they have long been revered for throughout their career, and no doubt fans will be excited to dive deep into the raw intimacy of what HUMAN reveals.
The girls will also kick off their Australian tour from June 4th in Brisbane!
