What's this? An Amity Affliction song without any cleans? Get outta town!

That's what 'I See Dead People' is, a three-and-a-half minute song complete with blastbeats, hauntingly dreadful guitar riffs and an overhanging intense feeling of impending doom as both frontman Joel Birch and bassist Ahren Stringer scream their lungs out at us. The song also posthumously features vocals from New Zealand rapper (and close friend of the band) Louie Knuxx, who sadly passed away in 2021 from a heart attack.

The song deals with the deeply personal subject of death and suicide, as Joel further explains, it's about:

"the ongoing and nebulous struggle that comes with dealing with the pain of friends killing themselves, while myself dealing with passive suicidal ideation.”

If you or anyone you know needs help with their own mental well-being call Beyond Blue on 1300 22 4636, Lifeline on 13 11 14, or find your closest Suicide Prevention/Crisis Support Organisation on Google…

You wanted Amity to go heavier? You got it. Following on from the release of 'Show Me Your God' before the band dominated the East Coast at Good Things Festival, we can only expect 2023 to be a HEAVY AF year for the band.
