Legendary Atlanta quintet Sevendust have unveiled the details for their upcoming album Truth Killer (out July 28 via Napalm Records) and the crushing lead single ‘Fence’. Truth Killer is the fourteenth studio album in the band's almost 30-year career and if the single is anything to go by, then it promises to be another powerful addition to their already mighty discography.

Fence’ doesn’t muck around at all. It comes out of the gate with a blood pumping riff reinforced by Morgan Rose’s signature pummelling drums before the grand entrance of Lajon Witherspoon’s deep and powerful voice comes roaring in. It somehow feels fresh and exciting yet still familiar, which is never an easy feat for any band, let alone a band with almost 30 years under their belt.

The announcement of Truth Killer also comes with the announcement of a new label for the band. Having worked with Rise Records for the release of their last two albums Blood & Stone (2020) and All I See Is War (2018), Truth Killer will be released via Napalm Records.

Truth Killer marks the third album that Sevendust have worked with Michael ‘Elvis’ Baskette on the production front and at this point this partnership just feels like a match made in heaven. There’s something really special that happens when a band finds the perfect producer to amplify their sound to the next level and Elvis is truly that for Sevendust.

There aren’t many bands that make it to their fifth or sixth album, so for Sevendust to be releasing their fourteenth album is nothing but impressive. Where so many bands have come and gone over the last three decades, it’s clear that Sevendust is a very special band that isn’t going anywhere and that’s the best news a fan could possibly hear.
