We know regional cities LOVE when shows come through, so to have the likes of UNIFY OFF THE RECORD heading across the country from this weekend is going to stir up the towns in anticipation.

Ahead of the touring festival's commencement, we reached out to Northlane, Teenage Joans and Raised As Wolves - to tell us about some of their memorable regional shows - and in turn, get you pumped up for their return...

Northlane

The most special show was probably about 10 years ago. We were doing a regional tour with In Hearts Wake and came through Wollongong. For some reason, there was an issue with the venue we were booked to play at, and the show was cancelled. A local surf shop owner wasn’t going to accept this as he’d been waiting years for us to come through, so he pushed all his clothes racks out of the way and we somehow managed to pull together a vocal PA and put a show on the floor of his store. It was absolute chaos, about 200 people crammed into this tiny store on a hot, rainy summer's day. The perspiration was dripping off the walls, it was like we were playing in a steam room. The fans were absolutely nuts, jumping off the store’s balcony. I’ll never forget it – Josh Smith

Teenage Joans

One of our favourite regional shows we played was at Margaret River. We absolutely loved the town, so much that we went away with Margaret River t-shirts, lanyards, and hats. The gift shop must have loved us!

Raised as Wolves

A few years ago, we supported Frenzy Rhomb at the Marlin Hotel in Ulladulla. I don’t know what it is about that era of punk and the south coast but when bands like that come through, the shows are loose as fuck. The Marlin used to have this checkerboard dance floor, which was just incredibly dangerous once the pit got going because it was covered in beer and sweat, so people were just slipping ass over head all night. – Brad Colley
