Perth Alt/Pop Rock Duo Those Who Dream Unveil Therapy Machine EP + Drop 'Mannequin'

It's been a hot minute since we last caught up with Perth-based pop rock duo Those Who Dream, who catapulted themselves into the alternative scene with their charismatically addictive single 'Apology' back in May last year.

Since then, the outfit - made up of siblings Josh and Hazel Meyer - have been popping up on local and East Coast shows, as well as appearing at Good Things Fest and the inaugural Transgenre Festival. Now, the band have announced their forthcoming Therapy Machine EP is set for release on October 18th and they've dropped a fresh AF new song to go with it.

Lead single 'Mannequin' kicks off with a guitar/clap-driven introduction before Josh's smooth dulcet tones draw us in, leading us to an early Fall Out Boy/Panic! At The Disco-esque pop punk jam. Those 2005 scene vibes continue throughout as Those Who Dream walk us - hand in hand - to a short, yet appetising drop, that'll have newcomers to the scene bobbing along in unison at future shows.

The new song touches on themes surrounding criticism and alienation while encouraging you to pick yourself back up when you get knocked down as the band shares:

"Maybe it’s some dumb comment on Instagram, or somebody you know constantly shutting down everything you do, or your own brain telling you you’re not good enough... This song is about standing up for yourself in the face of alienation, when all you hear is 'you can’t do this', 'you’ll never be good enough to do that', Mannequin is an unyielding rejection of that, like looking that person dead in the eyes and saying 'watch me'".
