Yep, you read that right. The 12 date Once Human tour has officially been scrapped due to ongoing issues surrounding the former manager of Sydney's Bald Face Stag venue, Scott MacKenzie and his alleged fraudulent activity. Many bands have yet to receive payment for their performances including, but not limited to The Dillinger Escape Pan on their recent Final Tour of Australia.
You may remember Scott also started up a touring company called Stag Music Touring who were supposed to be bringing Once Human to Australia, but due to contractual obligations not being met, they've pulled out according to a former employee of the new touring company:
"It is with a heavy heart that we must announce the Once Human Evolution Tour including the Blood Oath Festival are officially cancelled. The former company owner of Stag Music Touring Australia, Scott Mackenzie was not able to fulfil his contractual obligations after recent allegations surfaced about him regarding fraudulent activity.
While the rest of us tried everything we could to salvage the tour and have someone take over it was just not possible in such a short space of time. We are absolutely devastated. Sincerest apologies to all the fans. Refunds will be issued at point of purchase (Oztix/Moshtix). Many thanks to all the bands, venues and ticketing outlets for your support, patience and understanding through these difficult times."
Its a shame too as hype for the tour was largely welcomed by fans, and members too, frontwoman Lauren Hart told us in an interview back in December she was keen to get back down to Australia to play for her former country-mates. The tour itself was also selling well so when we asked the promoter if there was any chance of it being picked up by anyone else, unfortunately, there was no resolve:
"We’ve been trying to salvage since news of the stag drama started. Everything we tried came to a dead end so there’s no choice but to pull it now. Such a shame as it was on track to do quite well" - Chris Maric (Maric Media PR Manager)
At this point in time, the upcoming PAIN tour is also in jeopardy of being canned too:
"It is unclear whether it will still go ahead. They are looking for another promoter to take over this tour"
