Adelaide is firing up with their heavy bands and one of the locals that's caught our attention was one other than Life Pilot, who are still riding on the success of the release of their self-titled album which dropped back in March.
On the reception since it's unveiling the band shares:
"We’re all quite blown away by the response so far. After being away as long as we have and working as hard as we did on this, it’s truly nice and quite humbling to see the anticipation from so many. We’re all proud of the effort of course and feel like the results speak volumes.
What once felt hard and insurmountable, now not only feels achievable but highly gratifying at the same time.
We’re all super stoked and really excited to enjoy the new life breathed into LP."
Combining a unique approach to chaotic hardcore with a dash of metalcore throughout, the new release is certainly going to snap necks in the best possible way upon listening. The visuals with their music videos also add another complex level to the band's intricacies which they hope is witnessed first hand by fans new and old.
When asked what they hop listeners will take away from the album, the lads revealed:
"Simply, that we’re still here and we’re still most definitely a force to be reckoned with. There’s something to be said about staying humble of course, all of those nice sentiments. But make no mistake, we sure ain’t here to chew bubble gum.. we’re here to destroy your local stage and put sub par performances to shame."
Catch Life Pilot on the road throughout May, but before you hit the show, dig into their track-by-track insights and learn more about your new fav band...
Carcass
Is really an amalgamation of sporadic thoughts and frustrations. Directing passive aggression outward in a burst after ingesting it slowly and internally. Some of which relating to society's woes, some relating to my own. Either way, a call to pull one’s socks up and get on with whatever needs doing.
Feeding an Illness
Is about our overt willingness to treat mental conditions with numbing agents. Most often without any consideration for an alternate solution. All while condemning others who suffer from illicit substance abuse.
Dogtooth
Is essentially and somewhat selfishly, about feeling like public enemy number one. While simultaneously knowing you’re not that important in the grand scheme of things.
The Nerve
Was written about a past relationship, specifically about forgiveness for both parties. Respectfully saying, please just leave this alone and look after yourself.
Confined
Is again, pertaining to a past relationship, specifically about refusing to wear or take on the responsibility for someone else’s actions. It takes two to tango and there are always three sides to every story. Yours, theirs and the truth, somewhere in the middle
Salivate
Is about accepting your own faults and admitting you’re not as well rounded as you like to portray. At the end of the day, we’re all human beings and no one’s infallible.
Ad Nauseam
Is for anyone who, more often than not, feels stuck or trapped in their shell. Life can be overwhelming for everyone but for the introverted, explaining yourself is sometimes like pulling teeth.
The Hand
Was written a long time ago and upon first listen, may appear strictly political however, not necessarily the case. It’s about both left and right leaning minds, the similarities between they share and shared end goal. Or really, a lack thereof.
Kill For Sport
Is about leaving a long term relationship and realising the best years of your life are not only over, but possibly wasted. Trying to reconcile all of the emotional baggage while starting again.
Mayflower Pt I & II
Is written about a combination of polarising emotions, convening into an overwhelming moment of grief and sense of loss. For an ex lover, for lost family members and for my unborn child. About coming to terms with a present moment, of which you never planned for or imagined possible. Simultaneously mourning what was and what could have been while navigating an uncertain future.
The Light
Is about coming to terms with your mortality and the fact that most of what we fear or spend our lives worrying over, really means little in the end. Some find comfort in the distractions of reality, some welcome the existential crisis.
