It has been a very hot minute since punk extraordinaries Green Day hit Aussie shores; to be exact it was back in 2017 (read our review here) marking 7 years since we've had a glimpse of them. We were also lucky enough to check them out at the final ever Soundwave Festival back in 2014. We nearly got to see them again on the Hella Mega Tour with Fall Out Boy and Weezer but a cheeky little pandemic got ion the way of that. Nonetheless, in this post-COVID era, the iconic trio have announced their return to east coast stadiums on support of their Saviors tour.
The shows will see the Californians celebrate 20 years of American Idiot and 30 years of Dookie, and as such, playing both albums in full. If that's not enough, you can be assured you'll also hear the band perform hits off their latest fourteenth album Saviors.
The March 2025 tour will kick off in Melbourne, cruise up into Sydney and then wind up on the Gold Coast before calling it - sorry Adelaide and Perth. If you're anything like us, you probably grew up on this band, and in particular the records they're celebrating; just check out a setlist online to see what you might be in for.
Joining the trio will be post-hardcore lovelies AFI - who will be making their return to the country for the first time since 2017 as well.
