Merely two weeks after the band graced our shores for an exclusive one-off show in Geelong to preview their Stadium tour this December, the Foo Fighters took to Instagram today to announce that their beloved bandmate, Taylor Hawkins has passed away tragically:
"The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins. His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever. Our hearts go out to his wife, children and family, and we ask that their privacy be treated with the utmost respect in this unimaginably difficult time."
Our thoughts are with Taylor's family and those that were close to him.
The man was a legend behind the kit and on the mic, both with the Foos and his own side project, Taylor Hawkins And The Coattail Riders. Outside the Foo Fighters, Taylor's last release with the Coattail Riders was On the Money back in 2019.
At the time of death, he was only 50 years old.
