These are words of integrity. These are words of significance. These are words of articulation.
Arguably, this is not a statement of disarray, although it is one of distinctness; Norway’s Fixation are about to put frenzy into the focus of those who enjoy metalcore anthems with melodic serenades and emotional turmoil. The five-piece might even question testament with their art - but their illumination is as bright as the Northern Lights.
Astonishingly, 98% of Norway's domestic power usage is drawn from hydroelectric plants - it might be possible though, that some of the remaining percentage has been provided by this ExperiMetal quintet. It is their fascinating fusion of cinematic electronics that calls upon Spectrasonics 'Symphony of Voices’ with Bad Omens attributes that brought them to Indie Recordings radar (the artisanal label that became more arsenal in stature with the discovery of black metal punk sextet Kverlertak). It should also be brought to readers' attention that Kerrang! described the five-piece’s output as: “Super-hooky well-crafted modern rock that pulls in metalcore, post-hardcore and stadium rock, and will tick all the right boxes that fans of Bring Me The Horizon, Thrice and Thirty Seconds To Mars will connect with immediately”.
With their debut album due later in 2023, Fixation may very well become as ferocious as the next Beerenberg volcanic explosion. Their EP Global Suicide thrilled the alternative music scene, even BMTH’s Jordan Fish texted BBC Radio 1 Rock Show’s host Daniel P Carter in response to his experience with their sound: “What band was that? What was that song called?” upon hearing the Norwegians.
Perhaps: "There is a hell believe heavy music has seen it. There is a heaven, Fixation is what is needed."
