Gold Coast punks Fake News are stepping up this year! Following the release of their Everyday Warrior album back in 2023, the band have been hard at work on its follow-up; and their Take Me Away EP is set for release on March 16th - alongside a string of shows and killer support slots - but before we get to the good part, let's check out their new single!
'Nothing Town' harks back to the glory years of pop punk acts like Millencolin and Bodyjar with killer riffs and thumping drums taking us on a journey of realisation that you're bigger than the town you are living in. On the track, the ban comments:
"Nothing Town is about the struggles of growing up in a small nothing town and not being able to escape. The kind of place where nothing ever goes right & you're sick of being there & you just want to burn it down. It's a warning to others to not get stuck in those same ruts & you can walk away to a better place. Mix that in with catchy lead guitars & some big breakdowns this song takes you on a ride!"
