The year was 2002 and Grinspoon were set to dominate the radio airwaves with three killer singles from their new album that became an unofficially official soundtrack for Australian high school students - New Detention had a healthy dose of teenage angst and rebellion with its overall sound and put the band in a spotlight brighter than ever before - resulting in 5 ARIA nominations and peaking at #2 on the Charts after release.

Are you ready to relive the album that defined a generation of millennials? Well, you're gonna love this because Grinspoon are not only releasing the album on vinyl - for the first time - but they're hitting the road in celebration of it's 21st Birthday!

The tour commences on the Gold Coast at Miami Marketta Laneway on October 29, before venturing across the land via Hobart, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Sydney, and Newcastle, before wrapping up festivities at Perth's Astor Theatre on November 24 - with Private Function and Cupid & The Stupids in support.

For the first time ever, Grinspoon will be offering a VIP soundcheck meet & greet package, but here’s where the real magic happens: one lucky fan at each show will have the opportunity to join forces with the band, jumping up to perform a Grinners song with Phil, Pat, Joe and Kristian at soundcheck. For more information on this thrilling VIP experience, head to www.grinspoon.com.au.

Frontman Phil Jamieson shared his excitement for the tour, revealing:

“We’re delighted to be hitting the road again later this year, I’m so enjoying putting together the set list for these shows... We’ll be throwing in some songs we’ve never played live, believe it or not.”

Whether it's the emotive ballad 'Chemical Heart', the moshpit-inducing 'Lost Control', cheeky hit 'No Reason', or old-school hit 'Ready 1' from 1999's Easy, you're in for a night of nostalgia overload throughout October and November with the Easy Detention Tour.

Vinyl nutters will be pleased to know New Detention will be available on vinyl for the first time ever (pre-order here), with a limited-edition marbled green disc and with the original infamous cover art, just as the record was intended to be presented. It’s accompanied by a special edition of Easy, also arriving on vinyl for the first time. Both will be released just before the Easy Detention tour on September 8 and will be available at the merch desk at all shows.
