It was only a matter of time before the next generation's shredders started to receive their own signature models and the latest to step up to the plate is none other than Bring Me The Horizon guitarist Lee Malia who has joined the Jackson Guitars gang with his new Pro Series Signature Lee Malia LM-87 weapon.

Combining the best of both worlds with his vintage meets modern rock design, Lee worked close with his collaborators to produce a guitar that encapsulates his intricate soloing as heard throughout the BMTH catalogue (especially on the recent POST HUMAN series) and that unique aggressive playing style which made him a household name in contemporary metalcore.

Complete with its offset Surfcaster™ body shape and vintage appeal, the LM-87 combines a classic design with modern appointments. The thin open pore finish on the bound okoume body and neck exudes organic style, while the unique 3-ply pickguard and chrome hardware add striking accents. The fast D-profile 3-piece okoume neck allows smooth riffing across the bound amaranth fingerboard.

With custom Jackson signature pickups, including a bridge humbucker with push-pull coil-split, it provides the LM-87 with versatile tone shaping options which aim to live up to Malia's sonic vision. The TOM-style bridge with anchored tailpiece and fine tuners provides rock-solid stability especially for low tunings and heavy picking.

When discussing the inspiration behind his new signature model, Lee shares:

"Basically I've always liked offset guitars. I saw a picture of an old Surfcaster that Charvel made and then I spoke to Jackson to see if maybe it was something they could make me a one off Jackson version [of]. Mike Shannon built me a couple of one off versions and they were perfect."

"I like guitars that don't just appeal to metal players... because I like that you can do a lot of different tones with [the LM-87's] pickups"

As the music world continues to foster new and emerging talent, there's no denying the stranglehold BMTH has on the modern metal scene and with his new signature hitting the market, it won't be long before a new breed of ferocious shredders follow in Malia's footsteps, ushering in a new-age of metal musicality with a signature that produces a distinct metal tone and smooth playability worthy of capturing audiences attention on a global scale.
