Time to grab the tissues again...
Australian heavy/alternative scene staples Behind Crimson Eyes have had a lustrous career since their formation back in 2004, and now, two decades later, the band have announced they're heading for retirement.
The news comes as the outfit prepares to hit the stage across the country from August 4th supporting Story of The Year and Senses Fail, which is going to make these shows a little harder to process once they leave the stage each night.
On the retirement, frontman Josh Stuart shares:
“We are saddened, but also excited to share this final chapter with everyone... It’s been an incredible journey. We have toured with some of the biggest bands in the world including Iron Maiden, Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet For My Valentine, Disturbed and so many more. This wouldn't have been possible without the unwavering support of our fans. So we thank you all, and look forward to celebrating the past 20 years with all of you soon!”

But they're not going out without a bang and unleashing some final gifts to bestow upon fans. The lads released 'DEAD.DROP.DEAD', a heavy-hitting metalcore anthem that'll have you pumping out the reps at the gym and screaming/singing along when that chorus kicks in. The new song explores the inner turmoil of mental health struggles, in particular, the battle against anxiety and depression and the self-destructive behaviour that follows.
"The song paints a vivid picture of the darkness that can envelop us, the sense of bleeding out emotionally, and the spinning chaos that can result. Yet, despite the heavy subject matter, the outro serves as a powerful declaration of defiance against these destructive impulses, ending with a resolute 'No, Fuck that.'"
The new song is the first single from a forthcoming EP which is set to drop in early 2025 with the band set to embark on their own final farewell tour not long after. Dates and locations will be announced later in the year so there'll be plenty of time to get your final fix.
Until then, catch the band on tour next month with SOTY!
