Void Of Vision Slice Through Their Silence with New Single ‘Gamma Knife’ and Album Announcement
Over the past few months, Void of Vision have been descending into a world of darkness, anonymity, mystery, and eclecticness for reasons that endure beyond creative construction. Yet, their work has become authentically shrouded in a sense of something far grander than before, pushing the dominoes to unravel their next relentless and encompassing story and sound world. This begins today with the single release of ‘Gamma Knife’- an energetic and encasing offer from the band that perfectly projects them toward the next goal, the release of their brand new album, What I’ll Leave Behind.
Perhaps the most pinnacle of Void Of Vision’s exciting and unique brand is their effortless fusion of traditional metalcore elements with the twisted and spiraling world of electronic beats and instrumentals. ‘Gamma Knife’ immediately shows the prowess of this skill, launching the listener into a hard-hitting, rave-esque beat. As Jack Bergin enters the track, his command of the microphone follows suit, charged with a spunk and flair that stuns. The clapping beats soon transform into an explosion of sound, both vocally and instrumentally soaring with sonic capabilities.
It is within the first chorus and into the next verse that Jack’s vocals find themselves drowning in a sense of anguish, pain, and guttural intensity- a feat that is timeless within his always emotive and encapturing vocal style. To their core, Void of Vision is an entity of expression and storytelling, and this track proves no different.
‘Gamma Knife’ begins to mark its conclusion with droning vocals that soon rise in pitch and clarity, all before falling off the ledge and into an endless pit of breakdown; marked by sharp guitars and whirring electronic sounds. These intense layers and gruesome screams close out the track without a moment to wind down or dissociate your attention. ‘Gamma Knife’ never slices its connection with you.
The track is a clear mark of Void Of Visions' new extension of self, and more so, their aesthetic and performative direction. What remains true and unwavering is the band's undying passion that seeps throughout their music, and is sure to be found bleeding throughout their upcoming album, What I’ll Leave Behind.
