Trivium Announce New Album + Drop Brand-Spankin' New Song 'Catastrophist'

It's been a few years since Trivium released their stellar album The Sin and The Sentence (the first album I ever gave a perfect 10/10 score for) and now I'm frothing at the thought of hearing their new album What The Dead Men Say which is set for release on April 24th.

The boys have released the first single 'Catastrophist' which features frontman Matt Heafy's now iconic alluring cleans, a medium-paced tempo which continues throughout the song, but it's the guitar solo section where the band really shine, it's almost power-metal vibes (similar to what Parkway Drive have done in recent years) but it still sounds like Trivium!

On the new album, Heafy says:

"What The Dead Men Say is everything that is Trivium... On this album, one can hear the proper ingredients of past, present, and future Trivium. The Trivium sound is having everything the band does — on one album."

Corey Beaulieu echoes that sentiment, saying:

"We wanted to build on the foundation that we established with the last album. The record has all the elements that are Trivium — along with all of us wanting to keep pushing ourselves creatively. This led to a highly-inspired and fast-paced writing and recording process that really captures the energy of the band."
