Tasmania's Fierce Deity Return with 'A Dragon, Gold'

If you cast your mind back to September 2021 you’ll remember we had a look at the debut album from Tasmania’s Fierce Deity...
Power, Wisdom, Courage ticked all the boxes for melodic power metal - there was swords, sorcery, demons and heroes (read our review here). Well, Jonathon Barwick is back with another journey into a forgotten time. If you, like me, really sunk your teeth into Barwick’s previous releases, you’ll dig this one too.
Fierce Deity doesn’t so much as reinvent the wheel as continue the circle of traditional metal. It’s riff heavy with Barwick’s coral-like vocals taking centre stage. Chuck on a pair of headphones and get swept away to strange magical lands. As an added bonus B side (they still have those right?) there’s a haunting cover of the Ozzy Osbourne classic ‘Diary of a Madman’. All I can say is, fortune favours the brave.
