Sienna Skies Explore Harmonic Heartbreak With New Single 'Don't Let Me Go'

Sydney-based metalcore group Sienna Skies has had us moshing to our heart’s content for the better part of seventeen years now. While the experienced group is renowned for their heavy instrumentals and catchy melodic hooks, the quintet has decided to look beyond the breakdowns with their latest offering, ‘Don’t Let Me Go‘.

The nearly four-minute-long track is a soft and emotional ballad that stands as a tribute to those we have lost to terminal illness. The track’s stripped-back instrumentals allow vocalist Thomas Pirozzi to shine as he delivers delicately haunting, clean vocals – bringing his message to life.

To give us further insight on the track, vocalist Thomas Pirozzi goes on to say:

From the last time we released music to now, we have been through some of the most challenging periods of our lives. We’ve lost family, best friends, pets, as well as experiencing other horrific tragedies within our circle. It felt like there was just one heartbreak after another. We sat on this song’s chorus for a long time; it was a tough song to write and was something we couldn’t rush. I had tears in my eyes when we finally finished the song, and when I looked around the room, I noticed that I wasn’t the only one.

We are incredibly humbled by the heartfelt messages from people who have already shared their stories. It’s a special thing knowing that something you’ve created can mean so much to so many others.”

Don’t be disheartened if you were hoping for yet another heavy tune to bang your head to. The group is due to release their new EP titled Only Change Is Permanent on March 8th, where they will surely treat us with a few more surprises. Until then, keep spinning ‘Don’t Let Me Go‘ on repeat to prepare yourself for what will soon come from this class act.
