New Zealand metalcore outfit Crooked Royals are keen to hit the right notes with us this year, and they've absolutely done it with their brand new single which we're premiering for you today. New track 'Copacetic' is a pummelling, intricate track that showcases the band's take on metalcore. The song explores mental health and its vulnerability in today's current world. It's a fresh, exciting contrast between soaring cleans and sophisticated metal the band have mastered.

Heavy vocalist Lee Mackley has provided us with an insight on their latest heavy hitter:

"Growing up we always heard songs about mental illness or about being in a bad place and like most people we found comfort in these songs, making it feel like these thoughts/feelings are common for everyone. Which is great until we start to become complacent of our own mental illnesses and forgo getting the help that is needed.

Copacetic is about being vulnerable and seeking the help you need whether that be through loved ones or a doctor, but confide in somebody please. If we can make a song that connects with somebody the way other bands' music has connected with us and all be it at the same time gets the point across that relating to the lyrics about feeling mentally unwell means you should get help, then we are happy."

If you or anyone you know needs help with their own mental well-being call Lifeline on 13 11 14 or Beyond Blue on 1300 22 4636 or find your closest Suicide Prevention/Crisis Support Organisation on Google…
