MGK's Downfalls High Is Now On YouTube

There was one short film that most of the alt scene was keen on watching over the weekend and that was Machine Gun Kelly and MOD SUN's Downfalls High! The musical experience is based around MGK's latest album Tickets To My Downfall and was described as 'High School Musical meets Pop Punk School Musical' by our resident pop punk queen Tamara May in her review (check that out here).
We were inundated with questions about where to watch the movie with many fans not able to track down a viewing session of their own and this morning MGK (real name Colson Baker) revealed the movie will be making its way to YouTube tomorrow!

The lead roles are played by YouTuber Chase Hudson (Fenix) and upcoming US actress Sydney Sweeney (Scarlett) with narration by Travis Barker and cameos from Trippie Redd, Blackbear and Iann Dior, all of whom appear in songs from Tickets To My Downfall. There's also a scene stealing appearance by Travis Barker's son Landon which will get you smiling like a Cheshire cat once you see it.
Some viewers have stated the idea for the movie was great, but due to COVID restrictions, the crew were forced to rush the filming process (it was made in under a week) and it shows in some parts. For what it is, it's a great way to kill an hour and see these songs from Colson (which breathed new life into the pop punk genre), brought to life in an adaptation and story for a new generation of fans!

Back in our day, we had movies like American Pie, Road Trip and Loser, which introduced us to bands from the scene we still know and love today, and this outing could bring in a new wave of fans who will dive straight into the madness discovering these new artists, before heading back into the genre to uncover the likes of blink-182, Sum 41, Paramore, Fall Out Boy, Green Day and so much more...
