Hidden Intent Gets Serious with New Song ‘The Ruins’, Ahead of 4th Album Terrorform

Aussie thrash titans Hidden Intent have announced their fourth album, Terrorform, will be released on March 21, 2025. They’ve dropped the first single ‘The Ruins’ that’s got us pretty excited.

Known for their lightning fast riffs and occasionally sick humour, ‘The Ruins’ is an uncompromising, brutal song that laments the crumbling of democracy. The video features footage from their 2024 set at Adelaide’s Froth and Fury Festival, showing the band trigger whiplash among the punters young and old. It sets the stage for the Terrorform era, which promises to be wild if they’re packing more tunes like ‘The Ruins’. The album has been mixed by Dennis Koehe, whose past work includes Sodom and Lacuna Coil

Terrorform is a play on terraform (which is transforming a planet to support life), twisted so that the title implies fear has warped our perspective of the world. ‘The Ruins’ touches on this theme with some brutal riffs.

Lead guitarist Phil Bennett has hinted that Terrorform will be their most extreme release yet:

"We're building on everything we've done with Hidden Intent up to this point, but making it wider. On one hand, you'll get more melodic/lighter elements, while on the other, we're pushing into a much more extreme direction—more brutal, heavier, and unapologetically offensive."

Sounds like more eucalyptus fuelled violence is on the way. Get keen!
