Gravemind Make A Triumphant Return with New Single 'Terminal' Alongside New Guitarist

Gravemind have had quite the change up since their debut album Conduit released in 2019. Hitting multiple stages and releasing ‘Deathtouch‘ has helped solidify vocalist Bailey Schembri as the frontman for this new band era. Additionally, the band is now a five-piece once again, bringing on board guitarist Miki Simankevicius as a permanent addition. After seeing him shred some new songs at several shows last year, I’m confident Miki’s presence can only enhance Gravemind going forward.

Speaking of new tunes, the band have debuted one of these tracks in the form of ‘Terminal‘. I’ve been keenly awaiting new music for a while like many other Gravemind fans, hence I’m incredibly stoked to check this one out!

On the new track, the band says:

Terminal addresses the challenges of the online world, in particular, the risks of sharing personal information and the level of negativity that comes with social media. The song plays with the idea of everyone and anyone being a potential target in a constant battle for the top of the ladder in a social hierarchy, where the only escape is to unplug or retreat, especially if you’re in the spotlight. It’s a reflection on a society striving for an elusive standard in the digital age.

I’m instantly drawn in with the punchy production of ‘Terminal‘. Bailey delivers a diverse spectrum of vocals within the first few lines, hitting awesome highs and lows with ease. The punchy production of the instrumentals hits hard, allowing Miki to shine on guitar. The chorus’ are catchy and melodic, cleverly using clean backing vocals before smashing the listeners with appropriately heavy verses and blistering breakdowns to keep you moving.

Based on little hints dropped throughout the music video and socials, this might be the year we get Gravemind’s long-awaited next record in our ears. If Terminal is any indication to go by, Gravemind is ready to make unforgettable waves in the heavy music scene and I’m so here for it.
