Fever 333 Finds a ‘Higher Power’ on Empowering New Single

It doesn’t even tick over the three minute mark, but FEVER 333 sure know how to pack a big message into a short timeframe.

Following on from June’s ‘NEW WEST ORDER’ – a punchy, poignant track showcasing the band’s rock meets West Coast hip hop sound – ‘HIGHER POWER’ reaffirms the now four-piece’s chaotic, heavy sound while also ensuring listeners know Fever 333 aren’t wasting their time in your speakers, instead using their two minutes and forty-odd seconds in your ears to start a conversation and spread a message.

No strangers to a rallying cry, the Jason Aalon Butler-led project have never shied from using their platform to shout the things that need to be acknowledged most, and ‘HIGHER POWER’ – with its heralding of the contributions of Black, Brown, and Asian people and call for reparations, alongside a message of empowerment and unity – is Fever 333 at their very best.

Fever 333’s brand of energised, in your face, and undeniably groovy tunes is the musical resistance we need to hear. It might not always be comfortable, but when has pushing for change ever been?

“There are no diamonds to be produced without pressure,” Butler says of the new track. “No lessons to learn without trials. ‘HIGHER POWER’ revolves around these ideas and reveres the beauty in the adversity induced magic performed by marginalised communities.

“To exist in a world that challenges your very existence every day to some degree is one of the most magical acts I have ever witnessed.”

The track arrives with a potent new clip that finds Fever commanding the pulpit of a church in South Los Angeles – and honestly, take me to church.
