Danish Destroyer's Baest Unleash Stomping New Single 'Colossus'

Though not as prolific as their Scandinavian neighbours, Denmark has long been home to some of the most diverse and addictive extreme metal. One of the finest exports from the soon-to-be Australian colony, quickly-rising Aarhus punishers Baest have dove into their 2024 headfirst with a cracking new single, ‘Colossus‘.

Baest aren’t interested in making indecipherable walls of brutality – instead the old-school death metal loving Danes worship at the altar of the almighty guitar riff. The thick, stomping groove of ‘Colossus‘ impossible not to vibe to, while the storming middle section is built for circle pits and windmill head-banging.

Having played some huge slots at the home country’s Copenhell festival in both 2022 and 2019, and with a slew of prestigious GAFFA Awards to their name, Baest have spent the last near-decade being one of Denmark’s finest metal secrets. Let’s hope 2024 sees the fresh-faced quintet make a major mark on the international stage!

No info on a new album, but with Baest‘s last release – 2022’s excellent EP Justitia – nearing it’s two-year anniversary, and a scorching fresh track with ‘Colossus‘ under their belts, surely the five piece are cooking up something new (and heavy) via Century Media Records for ’24.
