D.R.U.G.S. Announce 3rd Album Until God Shows & New Single 'Losers Stay Losers (Let-Down)'

Post-hardcore emo sensations Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows (D.R.U.G.S) have been sending it full force since their long 11 year slumber. Returning with a fresh lineup, and even better, new music; DRUGS teased 4 singles before releasing second LP Destroy Rebuild (2022) which thrived with its nostalgic essence of what once existed over a decade again, but smashed it in terms of reviving the band with a more defined and modern sound. Every song had the right hook, and kept it fresh enough not to be repetitive, it felt good having this gem of artistry dug back up and polished to gleam.

Barely a month has gone by since static, bouncy single ‘Hunger Pangs’ soothed our appetite for more DRUGS entering us into the new era of what’s to come. Barely being able to keep the news in with excitement the band announced a second instalment on their rebirth, third album Until God Shows – available September 27^th via Velocity Records. Containing 10 tracks with only one put out so far leaves a lot to be desired, but fear not, single 2 just came in, and she’s a venomous one.

Craig Owens speaks on their latest single:

“Losers Stay Losers’ is a vivid picture of grappling with the emotional aftermath of a significant betrayal and the pain, disillusionment, anger, and distress that you have to face,”

Like a fly to a Venus flytrap, latest single Losers Stay Losers (Let-Down) lures us in with the sweet scent of familiar low end chugs, absorbed by a calm synth pairing with Craig Owens light vocal register. Crunching down on their prey, choppy drum fills signal for musical chaos queueing the instrumentally turbulent, vocally melodic chorus with the sharpest hook. Repeating the cathedral element for the second verse sits comfortably within the structure, adding a cheeky, bendy lead brightens it up massively and fills in any gaps in sound. Stretching out the pre-chorus into a minor breakdown retains the heavy nature that’s cemented among their newer style, keeping up with well fashioned technical patterns to keep their audience wanting more. The chorus being the main act repeats being lightly sung in off the bridge, extending the intro to an outro brings everything full circle and well rounded.

Whoever this song’s about, I’d hate to be them. Ideals of betrayal from those you trusted and the impact their actions have on you afterwards is a strong basis for the song’s definition. Nothing hurts more than no longer be able to confide in someone due to their toxic actions and not thinking about others in the process. At lease ‘Losers Stay Losers’ will give them an idea.

Regarding the third album update, Craig adds:

“Until God Shows is a high energy, and fun ride through the rollercoaster world of D.R.U.G.S. Complete with a backstory, and art to bring every sound and feeling to life.”

Still, we have no idea if there has been any further lineup changes during this writing period for DRUGS but either way, whatever tune comes out is well received and deserved of the high praise it is given. 4 months isn’t a long time to wait for Until God Shows to arrive but hot damn I’m tall enough to ride this rollercoaster and I want to ASAP!
