Crystal Lake Get Vulnerable With New Single 'Dystopia'

Earlier this year Japanese metalcore giants Crystal Lake returned in a big way. A new and powerful lineup and the explosive double single release 'Denial/Rebirth' - there has been no slowing down. Now, much to all of our delights, the band is back with their new single 'Dystopia'.

While the re-introduction into the scene has been slow and steady, the lads have been tearing it up across Japan this past year. They had the mammoth task of introducing the fans to their new frontman John Centorrino and guitarist Hisatsugu 'TJ' Taji, as well as officially adding touring bassist Mitsuru and long-time session drummer Gaku Taura to the lineup. As tough as these changes were, the new single proves that this band cannot be stopped.

The fast-paced classic metalcore track wastes no time. The signature delicate guitar harmonics and catchy as-hell riffs create a framework for the rest of the instruments to shine. The dynamic vocals combined with deeply vulnerable lyrics give us an even greater showing of what John has to offer the Crystal Lake sound. Unlike the previous release, this track feels like it picks up where the band left off with their previous album Helix. Oh and of course, the breakdowns are massive. This track feels definitely like a live track and hopefully, us down under will get to hear it live soon.
