Bury Tomorrow Are Back With Truly Heavy Single 'Death (Ever Colder)'

It's been a bit of a whirlwind for Brit heavyweights Bury Tomorrow throughout COVID. In March 2020, it was masks on, and Cannibal album (our review here) off (well more of a delay) for the boys. Eventually, the LP came out in July, but in the same month, they announced that clean vocalist / rhythm guitarist Jason Cameron was leaving the band. Since then they performed at Slam Dunk Festival 2021 with Ed Hartwell (on rhythm guitar) and Tom Prendergast (on clean vocals and keyboard). 

With speculation that Hartwell and Prendergast permanently joined the band, there's always been an element of doubt until it's official, where the possibility that they were touring fill-ins only remained, but in their fresh band image (see above), we're feeling sure they are now permanent members.

Of course, there's more happening in the Bury Tomorrow camp than member stability - and yes we're talking about new music. The metalcore outfit's first single in two years is titled 'Death (Ever Colder)' has now surfaced - let's take a look.

Unclean vocalist Daniel Winter-Bates has gone darker and deeper and is delivering a sound that I don't believe we've heard before - and it's delightfully heavy. Prendergast's cleans are a fresh touch to the new Bury Tomorrow era and leans into smooth harmonies that contrasts eloquently with Winter-Bates' brutality, sounding a bit like an ERRA vocal influence with the two of them. The three-quarter mark delivers a truly delicious breakdown that'll have you looking like you just bit into a lemon. All-round this is a superb comeback for Bury Tomorrow, and it's clear they've got more in the tank.
