Alexisonfire's Wade MacNeil Unveils New Project: Dooms Children

We love a good side-project and Wade McNeil from Alexisonfire has officially kicked off the promotion for his new band Dooms Children and the forthcoming, self-titled album which is set for release on October 20th via Dine Alone Records. If you're comign here expecting to hear AoF 2.0, then change your tone, because this is a completely different vessel and some of the most personal music Wade has ever embarked on.
He explains:
“This is the most personal music I have ever released... I tried to be honest (brutally at times) and not hide meaning or intent behind flowery language. It’s a record about my life falling apart and then trying to pick up the pieces. This album was half written while I was messed up pre-rehab, the other half while I was in rehab. This is a record about all the people I’ve met along the way. This is a record about hope. This is me at my most vulnerable.”
His first offering is the psychedelic rock track 'Psyche Hospital Blues' which, as Wade spoke about, was recorded during his stint in rehab during 2020. The video serves as a tongue-in-cheek yet poignant interpretation of Wade navigating his experiences.
