Well well well, one of the worst kept secrets in the guitar world has finally been officially announced. Following on from last year’s reissue of the classic Tom Delonge Stratocaster, Fender has unveiled the release of the Delonge Signature Starcaster.
Marrying a blend of Delonge’s original Strat model and his signature Gibson ES-333, the Starcaster is a hot-rodded offset, semi-hollow that is ready to rip. As always, we’ve got a single bridge humbucker in the form of the Seymour Duncan SH-5 Duncan Custom and a single volume control, because that’s all you need. The Starcaster features a Tune-O-Matic style stop tailpiece, roasted maple neck with rosewood fretboard and Fender locking tuners for extra tuning stability.
So, why is this one of the worst kept secrets? Well, Tom’s literally been playing them on every single date of the blink-182 world tour since they revealed his return to the band. It was literally the first thing that caught my eye when watching their Coachella set last year and was present during their recent trip across Australia.
