Cannibal Corpse have surprise released new single ‘Blood Blind’ today on all streaming platforms and as you’d expect, it’s a joyous little ditty swimming in unicorn laughter in a vanilla sky filled with fairy floss clouds. There’s no gentle intro to this song. No soothing intro. No lube. It’s just straight to the bludgeoning. So if you’re yet to hear it and haven’t had the chance to scare the piss out of your two year old today, turn the volume up on the stereo and hit play. It’ll bring tears.
The track is the first single from their next forthcoming album titled Chaos Horrific set for release on September 22, and will feature ten tracks of pure horrific HEAVY AF tunes.
As for the artwork itself, its one again delivered by longtime Cannibal Corpse collaborator, the always masterful Vince Locke. If you genuinely wanted the vanilla sky, then this cover delivers. Unfortunately, it serves as a backdrop to a gruesome zombie holocaust that may have been painted in every shade of red.
Written by guitarist Erik Rutan and drummer Paul Mazurkiewicz, this gentle stroll through serenity features lyrics like “Mass mutilations to reset the human race. Predetermined to ensure a future”, so you can really kick back and chill to this one. Now go and make yourself a calming camomile tea, put on your favourite fluffy slippers and sing along with these crooners with their new chirpy number ‘Blood Blind’.
