Who's been dreaming of Unify? We haven't been graced with the Gippsland festival this January and had high hopes of topping the 2022 lineup with The Amity Affliction and Violent Soho headlining. The event has picked up so much momentum in previous years and become a core staple to Australian heavy and alternative music. With tough times recently, many have worried about its future in this country.
Fear not though, we have good news to share. Unify is hitting the road in 2023 for Unify Off The Record. Deviating beyond the constraints of Gippsland HQ, Unify Gathering are hitting the road and here's how it's going to work - this winter Mackay, Adelaide, Wollongong, Hobart and Frankston will all experience a single-day diverse lineup, with a mix of the bands listed (in alphabetical order) below.
Alienist, Alpha Wolf, Alt, Arcade Stories, Banks Arcade, Bloom, Chasing Ghosts, Fit For An Autopsy, Future Static, In Hearts Wake, Make Them Suffer, Mirrors, Northlane, Ocean Grove, Ocean Sleeper, Offset Vision, Raised As Wolves, Redhook, Reliqa, Teenage Joans, The Beautiful Monument, The Last Martyr, Thy Art Is Murder, Thornhill, Void Of Vision, Wildheart, Young Lions, and Yours Truly.
Check out the dates and venues below for each city, along with each of the full lineups. It's going to be unlike anything ever before, and notably includes US deathcore kings Fit For An Autopsy who'll also be down under for Make Them Suffer's Neverbloom ten year anniversary tour.
On Unify Off The Record, Red Hill Entertainment comments:
“When we made the decision to skip the 2023 gathering, we knew right away that we wanted to do something to fill the space left. We’ve always been so grateful to all the people who make the annual pilgrimage to Gippsland from all over Australia, and sometimes the world. So this year we thought, why not take the show to the people and try to replicate the vibe, ethos and excitement of UNIFY on a different scale.
UNIFY is obviously a music festival, but it’s also always been an opportunity to bring our heavy music loving community together to share our experiences and learn.
We’re taking that ethos with us on the Off The Record road trip, working alongside APRA AMCOS and Support Act to host some real-talk sessions on everything from song writing to mental health, and providing exclusive insight into some of the Off The Record artists’ own stories. You’ll also be able to hit up the travelling pop up merch shop, selling our exclusive UNIFY Off The Record merch and other hard-to-find goodies.”
To get you buzzed for this announcement, we've got you covered with throwbacks to Tattoos of Unify 2022, and our inaugural Digi-Mag - the Unify Collector's edition. Get your tickets to the May and June events below.
