Still mesmerised by Paleface's 2022 record Fear & Dagger? It was up there with some of the big-hitter deathcore albums of the year and the Zurich group are back with some more hellish tunes for us to drool over.
To ensure you don't forget where they're from, they've now renamed themselves Paleface Swiss, suggesting someone (possibly legally) forced their hand, perhaps due to an earlier artist of the same name. On the change, they said:
"Yoo wasup. You might have noticed from our latest release with MY GRAVE/ LAY WITH ME or on other channels or press. We were forced to slightly change our name. Don't worry we're still the mad dudes from Switzerland!"
Along with the name change, the heavy quartet started teasing a new track which has just arrived, titled 'Best Before: Death'. Vocalist Marc Zelli (who recently featured on Distant's track 'Argent Justice' with a bunch of other peers) brings a fresh kind of fury onto this new one, and as a unit - Paleface Swiss produce the arguably juiciest, grooviest deathcore to date. The final breakdown is prolonged for so long, you'll have steam coming out your ears.
On the new single, Zelli comments:
"The song is about the expiry date of us humans and how we as people get closer to that date with every breath we take, with every addiction, greed, hate, over-working, etc.
You could say we are made to be used before our death. In essence, the human becomes useful after their death.
We don't have much longer because: the world is f*cked, the people are fucked and our lives are f*cked.“
