Orchestral metalcore Swedes Imminence are back. The five-piece took the world by storm with 2021 record Heaven in Hiding, featuring wondrous singles like ‘Temptation‘, ‘Heaven in Hiding‘ and ‘Ghost‘. If you haven't played it on repeat for a few hours, do yourself a favour.
The fans reading this won't need any recaps or refreshers, they've been waiting for the next level from this band and it's finally here. Today, Imminence share their first new track (besides acoustics) in a couple of years. The single is called 'Jaded' and it'll have you bopping like a teen.
With violins and cellos immediately kicking in, the 2023 release follows on from where Heaven in Hiding left off. Eddie Berg and Harald Barret create their own vocal orchestra of sorts, viscerally alternating between cleans and screams in unison to the peaks and troughs of the melodies. Imminence step it up on the back-end, deliciously catapulting 'Jaded' into a polished breakdown that spans as long as they need it to.
Update: 'Jaded' will feature on Imminence's forthcoming deluxe edition of Heaven in Hiding, set for release on digital streaming platforms on March 3 and via physical release on April 28 via Arising Empire Records. The deluxe version will also include a complete collection of re-imagined tracks from the album and a complete Studio Mega live session with a String Quartet, as well as vinyl, an art based book and more.
