Headwreck Drop Fiery Rendition of Linkin Park’s ‘Lying From You’

Since unveiling their debut EP Glamourise Demise late last year, Brisbane alt/metalcore outfit Headwreck are shaking up the scene from all corners. Their meticulous blend of hardcore, metal and electronic grooves is setting them apart very nicely for what’s ahead.

So is it no surprise the crew at Anti Vinyl Vinyl Club and What We Did On The Weekend asked the boys to jump on their forthcoming collaborative effort, The Better Sessions, Vol. 2? Following on from Clay J Gladstone’s Bloc Party take, Headwreck have taken on the great Linkin Park in a scorching cover of the track ‘Lying From You‘, from 2003’s Meteora. The band shared how they came to selecting this hot track:

“We all resonated with the idea of recreating a song from our childhoods, rather than capitalising on current mainstream music, sparking the interest of covering a 2000’s band. From huge clean choruses to dense electronic tracks, DJ scratches and even heavy rhythms, these were all things Headwreck and Linkin Park had in common. We chose ‘Lying from You’ as the cover not for our love of the song but for its potential to sound like a genuine Headwreck song.”

I honestly couldn’t agree more. The lengths they’ve gone to make this rendition almost their own is incredible. Headwreck have taken a classic 2000s nu-metal track from their youth and given it a refreshing spin, relevant to the current music landscape. All while demonstrating the band’s expansive talent and it paints a vibrant picture of what the future of the band looks like. They’ve crushed it!
