It’s been a hot minute since Melbourne post-hardcore outfit Outloved released their Be There For Me EP back in 2020 and it’s follow up standalone single ‘It’s All Hate‘ last year, but now they’re back with another heavy meets clean thumper that’s gonna get you moving!
‘Still Lonely‘ finds vocalist Jaydon Colvin screaming his way back into our lives with guitarists Conor Kelly and Michael Beane shredding some djent filled riffs that will have you gurning in no time. Having been produced by Ionei Heckenberg (Ocean Sleeper), you can hear elements of that Aussie core sound throughout as the band interchange between heavy riffs and melodic synth sections.
On the song, Jaydon says:
“‘Still Lonely’ is a track about fighting the negative thoughts in your mind, It’s the back and forth between giving into feelings of self-deprecation and breaking through them head first. I was heavily into Beartooth at the time the song was written so I’d say they’ve been a massive influence on the beefy guitars and catchy chorus of this track. Co-written with the legend Ionei Heckenberg it was a recipe for the heaviest song we’ve done.”
It really makes for a great song that’ll no doubt remind you that these guys mean business.
