Holding Absence Share ‘Coffin’ Off Split-EP with Alpha Wolf

alpha wolf holding absence split ep

An epic Split EP is on the way from Alpha Wolf and Welsh act Holding Absence and it’s only a couple of weeks away from full release. The Lost and The Longing is out August 15 via Greyscale and Sharptone Records and will feature Alpha Wolf‘s recent single ‘Hotel Underground’ as well as both bands’ collab on ‘Aching Longing’.

Today, Holding Absence share the third quarter of this EP with ‘Coffin‘, leaving fans content with some new material to soak up before final collab track ’60cm of Steel’ gets revealed. Holding Absence recently wound up their first Aussie tour alongside Void of Vision on the back of their latest record The Greatest Mistake of My Life back in 2021.

Coffin’ delivers all the ambience you’ve ever dreamed off with Lucas Woodland‘s wonderous vocal effort, comparable to that of a big Dayseeker / Rory Rodriguez vibe. The band sequence peaks and troughs that heighten emotion and accentuate the long-built crescendos. To say this release is a hit would be an understatement.

On ‘Coffin’, vocalist Lucas Woodland comments:

“We’re ecstatic to release ‘Coffin’ today! This song is very much about finding hope in unexpected places, and feels like a real special step forwards for our band. We had the chance to experiment with pianos and ambience more than ever before, but still without compromising the Holding Absence sound. Super hyped for people to hear this one!”
