Jenna McDougall Debuts 'No One Will Ever Love You' Under New Solo Moniker Hevenshe
The day has arrived and everything is about to change in Jenna McDougall's world...
The Tonight Alive frontwoman has finally unveiled the first taste of her solo project Hevenshe in the form of debut single 'No One Will Ever Love You' - a pop/folk/bluesy heartbreak anthem that harks back to some of her earlier work in Tonight Alive (namely 2013's The Other Side album) with a matured sound that's sophisticated, authentic and 100% Jenna. This is her music, her story and her sound - released the way she wanted and the end result is nothing short of immaculate.
Who knew way back in 2018 when we first discussed the idea of a solo outing that this would eventuate and come full circle a mere four years later! When addressing how her new project differs from her work in Tonight Alive, Jenna revealed:
“There’s an element of limitation to being in a band. When Tonight Alive decided to go on hiatus, I was immediately trying to write my own songs and develop something new, without even really knowing or believing that I could. I felt blocked by my expectations and eventually had to surrender what I wanted this project to be. From that place I was able to find my authentic sound. Hevenshe literally feels like what my voice is made for.”
“Tonight Alive is a shared dream, but Hevenshe is solely mine. I’m fortunate enough to say my dreams have come true, but it only makes me want to keep dreaming.”
And this is just the start of what's to come. Hevenshe will take to the stage for the very first time at Crowbar in Sydney on Friday, June 10th [tickets here] and if your interest is piqued, you may want to jump on tickets asap as Jenna promises it'll be an experience for any/all fans who have followed her journey:
“No matter how I sing, how I move, what I say, there will always be a passion and tenacity present that was there from the very start. I am undyingly determined to create, express, inspire and unite people.”
One burning question that fans have been wondering about is "What does this mean for the future of Tonight Alive?" Don't stress, all is fine in the world of TA:
“The birth of Hevenshe is not the death of Tonight Alive. We are not disbanding. Individually we’ve all found fulfilment from our personal lives and projects through this time, but having a shared goal is starting to become exciting for us again. We look forward to sharing news with fans as those conversations develop!”
You know what to do next!
