It Appears Tonight Alive’s Jenna McDougall is Launching A Solo Project Called Hevenshe!

Hold up, hold up, hold up… we need to go back in time before we start this piece. Back to UNIFY 2018 when I sat down with the beautifully talented Jenna McDougall of Tonight Alive and questioned whether she’d be interested in releasing solo material at some point in her career and what that would sound like; to which she candidly revealed:

“I’d like to make a solo record, yeah definitely. It wouldn’t have any borders or boundaries” she added. “It wouldn’t have a genre [or] be limited to members that can play certain instruments. I want to make music with everybody and friends and just branch out and muck around.”

“It’d be the first time I really feel like I could really just experiment, truly, without knowing that you’re making a record for a band that has a genre, that has a following, that belongs to a scene. Even though you can still do whatever the hell you want, there’s still those kinds of borders.”

Four years ago that conversation took place and now it seems that Ms. McDougall is going to venture out on that path with her Facebook and Social Media Pages changing and the unveiling of a solo show along with the statement:

“Announcing a show before releasing music? The audacity! Can’t believe I’ll be playing a set of (almost) entirely unreleased songs for you in 2 weeks Sydney. Anyone feeling as game as me? Tickets to the first ever Hevenshe show on sale now! 🦅

Hevenshe.

Intriguing name and with a date of June 7 splashed around her socials, that could be the date we hear what Jenna’s been working on… We’ll keep you updated as we find out more, but are you excited to see what this could potentially lead to?
