Neck Deep Return To Their Roots on ‘STFU’

Who else was a little concerned about Neck Deep’s future when drummer Dani Abasi announced his departure last week? Not going to lie, there were a little nerves here…

But alas, the anxiety is out the door after hearing the band’s new single ‘STFU‘. Vocalist Ben Barlow is back in his prime, that unapologetic angst we threw our hands up for the first time we checked into the band’s LP, Wishful Thinking in 2014. The song sings about our frustrations of living a life full of expectations, manipulated by what we’re constantly seeing on our screens. It’s heavily relatable, and a punchy explosive hit of pop punk in your veins that sounds like the best track the boys have dropped since Life’s Not Out To Get You.

STFU‘ also marks Neck Deep’s first single without longtime label, Hopeless Records who released the band’s last record, All Distortions Are Intentional back in 2020. Pop punk simps, take that as you will, but according to the song’s streaming credits, it’s been released under TB Records. I guess you could say that this newly found independent route has taken the now four-piece back to their core sound.

So with that being said, turn off the noise you surround yourself with, STFU and hit this on repeat stat!
