Dune Rats Demonstrate Unconditional Love on ‘Melted Into Two’

Are the Dunies finally growing up?

They’ll always be some of our favourite stoners in Australian rock, but the Dune Rats are embracing a new side to them on latest single ‘Melted Into Two’ – off their forthcoming album Real Rare Whale (now being released on July 29). What is depicted in the accompanied video as unconditional love between two people, is an upbeat punk track that sounds like your standard Dunies anthem which we’ve become all-too familiar with through the years.

We LOVE love, and a song that celebrates that unconditional affection for your significant other is an instant hit in our books.

But what ‘Melted Into Two’ does differently here is it marks the band’s progression through its lyrics. While it undeniably still has that explosive hook into the chorus, there’s also more substance to the song than we’ve ever heard before. So, yes. Maybe the Dunies are finally coming of age here, and we can’t wait what else they’ve got in store come July when the rest of the album hits.
