Meshuggah Electrify Immutable With 'Light The Shortening Fuse'

Apparently it's elite new Swedish metal release week. Yesterday, we had Ghost unveil their brand new single 'Twenties' and now we have the godfathers of djent drop another delightful assault on us. Meshuggah's ninth studio album Immutable is set for release on April 1st, 2022 via Nuclear Blast, as we learned a little while ago when Wall of Sound writer KJ Draven attended the band's press conference.
Since the exciting discovery, we've also been gifted ‘The Abysmal Eye‘. Today, the tech/prog lords have electrified us with their next single from the record, namely 'Light The Shortening Fuse'. KJ tells us the single sounds more like a classic Meshuggah track compared to the others we've heard so far from Immutable. The five-minute single is packed with progressive ferocity and highlights the band's perpetuating intensity.
