Void of Vision Unveil Party Starter Anthem ‘Dominatrix’

Undeniably one of the country’s most exciting new metal acts of the last few years, it feels like it was only yesterday that Void of Vision dropped their latest EP, CHRONICLES I: Lust (our review here). Fresh off their recent support slot alongside The Amity Affliction in Brisbane a few weeks back, the boys are hitting the ground running with brand new track ‘DOMINATRIX’. I don’t know about you, but this one’s most definitely their edgiest piece of music yet.

Their newest endeavour marks Void of Vision’s turn into electronic, nu metal territory. Driven by an infectious electronic hook, ‘DOMINATRIX’ sees vocalist Jack Bergin tackle uncharted territory through its lyricism before coming around full circle to the crushingly heavy guitars we’ve become so accustomed to. Honestly, after a few listens I had that main melody stuck on repeat and I was hooked. Bergin shares:

“The process began with that simple chorus vocal hook and ended up with our most adventurous attempt at a piece of work yet. I have never written, or attempted to pen a ‘love song’ before but this one just came extremely easily to me. The lyricism of ‘DOMINATRIX’, while quite foreign within a Void Of Vision song, is really complimented here by the track’s pace, flaunting a certain urgency, a longing for excitement and stimulation.”

It’s fast-paced, energetic, surprsingly catchy and also follows the music we heard on CHRONICLES I: LUST. Could ‘DOMINATRIX’ mark the beginning of CHRONICLES II? We’ll let you know when we know.
