Well 2021 was something else hey? We started optimistic and ended grateful just to be out (if you weren’t in isolation). Thank the devil the music was good. If you were down in Ballarat, Victoria for Knight And Day Festival, then you welcomed 2022 with the return of Parkway Drive to the stageand Polaris FIRST festival headline slot - what a way to say goodbye to the old and welcome the new - Revisit the madness with our AfterFilm!
Hopefully that’s the start of a killer series of festivals we will see returning to Australian shores this year. If you like it heavy there’s a ton of stuff to get excited about so here’s a quick guide to what you should mark in your calendars and keep an eye (and ear) out for.

Possible album releases?
10. Slipknot’s two albums?
With single ‘The Chapeltown Rag’ dropping to end 2021, it seems almost certain that we will get a new album from the 9 by the end of 2022. Is this a standalone single though, similar to the release of ‘All Out Life’ prior to We Are Not Your Kind? But that’s not even the biggest question for the 'Knot - could this be the year they unleash the second album of material from the All Hope is Gone sessions?
11. Parkway Drive
They've been working hard in their COVID time off and new material is on the way according to the band. This'll be the Byron Bay boys' first taste of new music since their triumphant 2018 album Reverence and with everything that's gone on in the world since then, you better believe it'll be angry!
- Polaris
During our interview at Knight And Day, frontman Jamie Hails alluded to the boys already working on new material which won't start seeing the light of day until they've toured The Death of Me internationally - could that mean new music by Christmas at least? If you're good, Santa-core might just deliver something for you!
