Belmont Push Forward with New Single ‘Bowser’s Castle’ + Announce New EP

It’s no secret that I have a huge soft spot for Chicago pop punk, and leading the pack from the US Windy City is Belmont. If you loved their Reflections EP as much as I did this year (suss my review here), chances are their latest offering, ‘Bowser’s Castle’ will heighten your love for the band, especially if you consider yourself a Mario Kart expert.

Stomping in with a whirring blend of hardcore/punk attitude by way of high-impact riffs and a taste of 2000s energy (think Set Your Goals and Sum 41), ‘Bowser’s Castle’ sees their chaotic brand of punk progress further through intense post-hardcore styles and infectious hooks built into the chorus. It’s another reason why these guys are quickly catching up to Pure Noise labelmates State Champs in becoming one of my favourite bands to watch grow in the ever evolving world of pop punk.

Following their riff-fuelled take on The Kid Laroi/Justin Bieber’s ‘Stay’ last month, this song is the second track to appear on Belmont’s forthcoming EP, Bowser’s Mixtape. To be released on November 19th via Pure Noise Records, the EP will also feature renditions of songs from Belmont’s current discography, ‘Stay’ and… an Avenged Sevenfold cover! Intriguing guys… I am looking forward to checking this out even more!
