A Swift Farewell Dream of Summer in 'Sunburn'
Sydney pop punk outfit A Swift Farewell are back with a brand new single that'll make us lust for easy breezy summer days. 'Sunburn' lures us in with a soothing guitar riff and lyrically pulls at heartfelt emotions of a weighty relationship. The track kinda gives us a glimpse into the band's softer, more intuitive side which after getting around this, is probably their strongest element.
For a band who are stuck in Sydney's ongoing COVID lockdown though, they're using their time ever so wisely by producing their brand new music video. Drummer Dwayne Morris talks us through how it came about:
“We initially wanted to film a live music video of us playing the song at our headline show. However, with the ever-changing situation, we had to find an alternative. Sarah, our bassist, messaged us one day and showed us a homemade green screen idea. From there, we hit up our good friend Robbie and the rest is history. It was a fun experience, especially since I got to hit my drums for the first time in god knows how long.”
With 'Sunburn' showing plenty of promise alongside the infectious jam 'Mousetrap', A Swift Farewell continue to rise the ranks in Sydney's star-studded pop punk scene. It won't be long now before this four piece are a force to be reckoned with (much like their peers Stand Atlantic!)
